Tango Reloaded

Tango music and dance are about to celebrate a century since their modest and secret beginnings in the early 20th century. Tango is willing to stay for a long time for the new generations to learn and appreciate the sensuality of this music and dance.
The tango has suffered multiple changes along its life and development. Like a chameleon, it has transformed itself and adapted to the new life contexts and situations. While a lot of youngsters try hard to learn the dance movements their grandparents used to practice in the milongas, cafes and tanguerías, others took the old melodies and created a new style fusion with the rhythms of the 21st. century creating what it is called as Tango Electrónico or Neo Tango.
It is a new concept in music, which I personally recommend to listen. Groups like Gotan Proyect, Tanghetto and Narcotango, Bajo Fondo Tango Club are excellent. Recently a new record has been released in BA music stores, is “Buenos Aires/ Paris- The Electronic Tango Anthology”, a double CD with songs of groups that accelerates tango tempos and takes it to the border of chill-out: Tanghetto, Carlos Libedinsky – Narcotango, Supertangox….
